The foster carer's daily logs are consistently thorough and clearly written, providing detailed accounts of timings, activities, and actions taken regarding the foster child. The entries are very child-focused and demonstrate the routines and structures that have been implemented for the foster child by their parent.
The foster carers continue to keep me updated about any concerns relating to the foster child and their parent, which is helpful in maintaining oversight and ensuring timely responses to any issues.

The Foster Carer
Did the foster carer make the foster child feel welcome?
The foster carer is exceptional. From the first day the foster child was placed with them, it was evident how attentive and caring they are. They also helped reassure the child's parent, who was feeling distressed due to the delay with the placement move and the ongoing care proceedings. The foster carer greeted us warmly and was supportive towards the parent throughout the visit.
It is clear that the foster child has developed a positive bond with the foster carer. I have observed the foster child approaching them, babbling and communicating with them, and seeking their attention. The foster child is also able to settle well in the foster carer's care, both with and without their parent present.
Please provide some examples of the foster carer's work that you have observed.
I have observed the foster carer engaging warmly and responsively with the foster child. They sing to the foster child and use play to encourage their development, such as motivating them to crawl by placing toys in front of them and praising their efforts. I have also observed the foster child fall asleep in the foster carer's arms, appearing comfortable, secure and peaceful. These interactions demonstrate the nurturing and sensitive care the foster carer provides, and the positive attachment the foster child is forming with them.
Was the home always clean and warm?
The home is consistently immaculately clean and well kept during my visits. The foster carer maintains clear boundaries within the household, such as ensuring shoes are removed before entering communal areas. As the foster child is currently exploring and learning to crawl, the foster carer ensures the environment remains clean, tidy and safe to support their learning and development.
How was your experience of the interaction with the foster carer?
Extremely positive. The foster carer has a naturally nurturing approach and radiates warmth and attentiveness. Their professionalism is balanced with safeguarding, compassion, openness and honesty. I value and appreciate the interactions I have with the foster carer, as they communicate clearly and work collaboratively at all times.
If a situation arose again, would you use this foster carer again?
Yes. I would be very confident in placing a child with this foster carer again. They have consistently demonstrated high-quality, child-centred care, along with strong communication and professionalism. They provide a warm, nurturing environment, maintain clear routines and boundaries, and have shown an exceptional ability to support both the foster child and their parent during what has been a very challenging time. Based on my observations and experience, I would be fully supportive of using this foster carer again in the future. I hope that our paths will align again after this placement comes to an end.
