London Borough of Croydon

It has been a pleasure to work alongside Elleisha and A, they are highly professional people and work in an incredibly child cantered way. They are both highly invested in supporting young people and are both are a credit to Nurture Fostering.

Speed of Response to Local Authority Requests:
No concerns about this at all. Any contact had been done in a very timely manner and any contact is very professional.

Helpfulness of staff at the agency
All staff I have been in contact with regarding the placement starting and for the duration of this placement have been highly professional and dealt with any queries quickly and very professionally.

Verbal and Written Communication:
All communication with Elleisha, her colleagues and A has been very professional and done in a timely manner. All records kept by Elleisha and A are up to date and accurate, they provide any documentation quickly, and these documents are well written and easy to understand.

Quality of Form F:
The Form F was very well written, with accurate and up to date information. It answered any questions I had and made me feel more confident and informed about this placement.

Ability to suitably match:
A is a fantastic carer who genuinely cares about young people. He is approaching the placement at the young person’s pace and does not force them to do anything, but still has put clear boundaries in and did this at the very start of the placement. A is very calm, gentle and understanding and advocates very well for the young person when I have spoken with him as well as within professional’s meetings.

The Foster Carer:

Did the foster carer make the child feel welcome? Please can you provide some examples of the foster carer’s work that you have observed.

A was very welcoming when the young person arrived and helped them to take their belongings into his house and up to their new room. A is very honest and open and answered any questions the young person had as well as took an interest in what the young person liked such as cooking certain types of food, certain jobs the young person talked about. A helped the young person to see this new placement as their home which has really helped to develop their relationship.

Was the home always clean and warm?

The home is always of a very high standard and there are no concerns at all.

Please provide examples on any areas requiring improvement:

Nothing.

If a situation arose again would you use this foster carer again?
Yes, no concerns with A at all.

If no, please state why?
N/A

Please comment on the foster carer’s strengths.

A understands young people and what they pressures and concerns they have within their own lives. He is honest, genuinely cares abut the young person in his placement and has said that he wants to work with social care in order to support this young person properly. The fact that he is fully committed to this work shows his dedication and the fact that he wants the best for the young person in his care. A has a fantastic supervising social worker who is as dedicated as A is and they work really well together. This dynamic allows young people to see two professionals with a clear professional relationship working together for the good of the young person.

A has also instilled clear boundaries from the very start of the placement and dealt with this in a professional manner but also included the young person into these discussions. This helped the young person to feel a part of the conversation and to not feel patronised.
